The weather did not cooperate for a ride north to Steinhatchee on August 2nd
but instead we rode east to Leesburg Harley Davidson for their 15th Anniversary party. We had great weather
most of the day, or at least until someone in the group wanted to ride north to Ocklawaha. We had to pull over quickly
and put on the rain gear. We still had a fun time even in the rain, not to mention a great lunch at Gator Joe's.
We
had a large group turnout for the dinner ride to Papa Joe's in Brooksville. Luckily, it was a beautiful night for
a ride. We have had a rainy month but we have still managed to get in some riding time. Hope you have, too.
We
owe a great big thank you to Toni Stanganelli for planning the Singing Pontoon Boat ride. I did not think I could learn
anything new about the Withlacoochee and Rainbow Rivers being married to a native of the area, but I found it very interesting
and educational.
We really must do this more often.
We have a small group from our chapter heading out
on the Natchez Trace for a bike trip during the first week of September and I cannot wait to tell you about it at the monthly
HOG Meeting on September 18th at ABC Pizza. We have a ride to Gator Joe's at Ocklawaha on September 21st.
The Road Captain will be Skip Coolbaugh. Try to make plans to join us.
We have a dinner ride planned for September
24th to Carrabba's in Spring Hill with Terry leading the ride. The Traveling HOG ride will be on
September 27th to the Texas Roadhouse in Orlando. Maybe this will be the day the Crystal River Chapter can
bring home Mr. Bacon! And, on the same date, there will also be a special afternoon planned for the ladies. Make
sure you mark your calendar to come to the "Garage Party" at the Crystal River Harley Dealership at 4:30 p.m.
Keep watching the calendar for more details about the Riders' Edge Cookout on Sunday September 28th!
Ride
Safe~
